November Fieldtrip - Nursing Home

Yesterday, Addysen's preschool class went to a nursing home in town and sang for them.  Last year when they did this same field trip, Addysen didn't open her mouth or even smile the entire time.  But this year, she sang to all the songs, did hand motions and even gave a card she had made to a lady from the nursing home without any help from me or the teachers! I was so incredibly proud of her and so encouraged to see her having so much more confidence!

These videos are a bit on the long side, but for the sake of Grandparents especially, I wanted to post them! :-)

Sisters

We had beautiful weather this last weekend where the girls could get away with wearing short sleeved shirts so I made one more attempt at getting a picture of the three of them in their matching shirts. Brielle wasn't thrilled with the concept so ended having to have a paci in all the pictures, but despite that, I thought this one turned out pretty cute!

Jeff's Birthday

Last week was Jeff's birthday and since it fell on a Sunday he was home with us all day.  The girls started the morning off for him with breakfast in bed and Addysen sang happy birthday to him.

Then they wanted him to open their cards and present right away! Addysen and Haven made him really special cards.

They got him a picture frame for his office desk with pictures of the 3 girls

Daddy with his girls all ready for church

After a really good dinner at home, we had carrot cake for birthday cake and the girls got to help blow out the candles!

Various October Pics

4 weeks old...all ready for a ride in the car

5 weeks old

My big girls

The girls love smoothies I make them with our Ninja...and I love that it's a healthy snack that they think is unhealthy! :-)  Haven typically makes quite a mess with the smoothies and ends up with a smoothie mustache! :-)

Brielle (7 weeks) really likes that bumblebees on her swing and I often catch her smiling at them

She gets pretty relaxed in the swing!

Brielle (8 weeks) and I fell asleep together on the couch one night!

After giving Brielle some animals and a rattle, Haven got a stool, set it up by Brielle in her swing, got some books and proceeded to start reading to her.  Brielle was enthralled. :-)

Addysen took this picture of her sister :-)

Haven all ready to hold Brielle

Haven and Addysen both got really sick the end of October.  It was probably the only time since Haven was able to roll when she was a baby that she has ever stayed in one place for that amount of time during the day!  She was so sick she literally just layed on the couch the entire morning...and fell asleep on the couch with a snack trap with Cheerios in it in her hand!

 Mommy and Addysen Starbucks date!

October Fieldtrip

Addysen's fieldtrip in October was to a local farm.  When they first got there, the kids got to play in a chicken coop filled with dried corn.

It was pretty cute...they had buckets and shovels so the kids played with the corn like it was a sandbox

Then they got to go pet some animals

And then go through a corn maze.  Last year, they had a guide take us through but this year they just gave the teachers a map and said good luck! We walked and walked but did eventually make it out!

After we got out of the corn maze, we got a hay ride back to the start.  Brielle came on the fieldtrip too...she slept in the Bjorn the whole time covered up by a blanket since there wasn't any shade!

Photo op for Addysen's preschool class (she's the 4th one over from the left)

Before they left, they got to dig in a pile of hay to find a pumpkin they could bring home

Addysen was pretty excited about the one she picked out!

Haven

There is no way to capture Haven in words...she has such a personality!!  She gets into trouble constantly and is on the go all the time! Had to write down a few things she's said and done lately to remember...

Last month when Jeff's Mom was still here, I came out of my bedroom to hear Gramma on my phone trying to convince someone that everything was ok and saying it was her granddaughter that had dialed the number.  Uh oh.  Yep...she somehow managed to call 911 from my phone.  No idea how she did it as it was locked and how in the world she hit the right combination of numbers, but leave it to Haven to figure it out! :-)

Just today, Haven took a marker and wrote on Addysen's head.  Yep...on her head.

Haven adores Brielle.  Absolutely adores her.  However, she wants to show love with much exuberance so Brielle has already had some close calls...including being pulled off the couch head first by her loving big sister!  Yikes!  So thankful God makes babies so "durable!"  Brielle is going to be one tough little girl growing up with Haven! :-)

I never want to forget how often Haven says "I love you SOOO much, Mommy!"  I am honestly not exaggerating a bit if I say she tells me that 100 times a day...every day.  It's the most precious thing.  And she'll often list people off saying that she loves each one so much...i.e. I love Daddy so much, I love Addysen so much, I love Bwe-elle so much...and the list goes on and on. As wild as she is, she is the most loving little girl I've ever been around!

I think Haven has the gift of encouragement...she so often tells me that something I'm wearing looks "so pretty" on me and she tells me all the time "good job, Mommy!"

Haven says "I tink Bwee-elle loves me!" so often...and I think she's right, despite having a healthy fear of her big sister too. :-)

The way Haven says "something" is so cute...she says "Sum-pe-tin-tin"...i.e. "Mommy, can we watch sum-pe-tin-tin?"

This is a video of Haven in a sweet moment with Brielle.  Both Addysen and Haven get the biggest kick out of Brielle "getting" them. :-)

Halloween

For Halloween, Addysen was batgirl

She even got nail stickers that came with her costume...she loved them!

Haven was "girly" Elmo

And Brielle was a baby bear

Brielle's bear costume we got for Addysen when she was a baby.  With all the girls having summer birthdays, they were all able to wear it their first Halloween so had to add pics for comparison to Brielle now...can definitely tell they are sisters!!

Addysen (10/2008)

Addysen and Haven both wanted to try on the bear head of the costume now...a little small...ha!

Haven (10/2010)

And Haven trying out the bear head this year :-)

My big girls

All all 3 of my sweet girls

Jeff had basketball tryouts before the kids carnival at Thomas Road Baptist Church that we went to that night and had to just meet us there so I was on my own to nurse Brielle, get the girls fed, costumes on, and out the door by 6...wow...that is a LOT of work at this age!!  But when they turn out this cute, it's all worth it! :-)

They had trunk or treating outside which we only lasted for a little bit at since it was really cold that night but they had the whole very long indoor "main street" of the church lined up with people in different themes handing out candy to the kids.  Then they had decorated the rest of the way to Liberty's indoor track in a Peter Pan theme...it was incredibly well done!  Pirates, tinkerbell, tunnels decorated in butterflies and flowers, Captain Hook, Neverland forest...amazing.

Haven had forgotten how the candy part worked since last year and after getting the first piece of candy in her pumpkin, she proceeded to sit down on the ground and was going to just eat it right there. :-)  I had to get her up and explain to her that she had to keep going and that she was going to get a lot more candy in her bucket!  After a few more pieces of candy in her bucket, she started getting the idea and would go up to people holding her bucket out if she saw they were handing out candy.

They had Liberty's indoor track set up with all kinds of games and activities for the kids...and tons more candy being given away!  The favorite part for the girls was an area in the middle that they had roped off for kids 5 and under with various activities for the younger kids.  Haven loves blocks so was excited to see blocks there and sat down at that station building for a while.

Batgirl spinning around!

They had several bouncers there, but they had one in the 5 and under area just for that age kids which was great!  Both girls were pretty excited to bounce for a while!

Haven looking out from the bouncer

And Miss Brielle missed out on most of the action!  When we first got there, she had her eyes open and was taking it all in...then fell asleep in her carseat for the rest of the time we were there.

Me with my big girls

The girls were exhausted (and on a sugar high...interesting combination!) by the end of the night, but we had so much fun!  So thankful for a safe, fun, indoor activity for the kids to do on Halloween that's so well done!
