Addysen loves to go pick up Daddy at work because she often gets to go to a play area they have in the church connected to the school while we wait for him to get done. A few weeks ago before we went over there, I got her on video and it was pretty funny...had to post it.
[Just in case you can't understand her at the beginning, when I first ask her about the rules, she says "We need to obey and no fussin' or whining or no fussin' what Grampa say and NO fussin'!" (Her Grampa has told her "no fussing" since we were in NY and it stuck :-) )
Before she gets into all the "Whee's" and who knows what else that I can't even translate (except that it sounded like Auntie Natalie was thrown in there in the middle!), she says "I'm going to play at Daddy's work and play on the big slide and the little slide...." They have 2 slides there...one is really big, but she likes to go down it and one's a little toddler slide]

Addysen"isms"
I just absolutely love this age that Addysen is at right now. Not that she doesn't challenge us at times, but the excitement and love for life and learning and the sweet innocence right now is just absolutely precious. I wish I could just bottle this time up and save it...the time is going too fast...how do I already have a 2 1/2 year old?! However, the good news is that Addysen has wholeheartedly agreed to stay 2 forever. :-)
I often don't write down things Addysen says because it seems like I want to write down everything she says because she makes me laugh a hundred times a day at not only the things she says but the way she says them. But I figured I need to start writing down more things she says though...and hope that in the future I'll remember how she said them...the precious way she talks at this age!
So a few fresh on my mind...
We were about to leave a store tonight and I had just taken Addysen out of the cart and was holding her. I asked her if she wanted me to carry her to the car or if she wanted to walk by herself and hold my hand. She replied "Um, let's see. Oh...I know! I want Mommy to carry me!" (She uses that first part all the time when she responds to us now...like she's genuinely pondering the question we've asked her and then excited she's come to a conclusion on it...it's so cute!)
Last night we went to eat at a Mexican restaurant and Addysen wanted to try the salsa. I didn't think she would like it, but figured she could try it if she wanted (it was pretty mild). Before the chip was hardly in her mouth she announced "I like it!" and then about a half a second later, the flavor actually hit her mouth and she said "I don't like it!" and then wanted milk and water to wash it down. We laughed and asked her if it was spicy. She said "Yes. I don't like it real spicy. I just like it...a little spicy."
When I ask Addysen to help me with something, often she'll respond by saying "Sure (pronounced "sir")! I would love to!" (and she says it like she honestly would love nothing more than to help with whatever I'm asking her to do)
Addysen says "a little bit" quite often now...for example, "I need a little bit of help" or "Let me sweep a little bit" (she loves to "help" me sweep!).
Tonight we got home after it was dark. Addysen looked up and saw the stars in the sky. She said, "Look! The stars!" I asked her who made the stars to which she replied "God did!" So simple...but absolutely warmed my heart.

Various January Pics
I'm way behind on posting...but still wanted to get these pics from January posted!

These next 2 pics are from the beginning of January when I went away for a weekend with Haven and Jeff stayed here with Addysen. They had a ball together and I think it was a very special time for them...just the 2 of them.

As I had previously posted, Haven went through some separation anxiety in January...coinciding perfectly with family being in town. With an hour or so after my parents left, I nursed Haven and she fell asleep in my arms. I laid her down on the ground, figuring she would wake up and then she could finish eating, but I was wrong...she didn't move, just kept sleeping right there on the floor! Poor baby was exhausted!

Addysen knows how to get comfy...that's for sure! She gets herself set up like this anytime we let her watch a video or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. :-)

For weeks before she started crawling, Haven would get up on all fours and rock back and forth...all set to take off!

I was looking for something in our storage room and came across a bin of mementos my parents had held onto from when I was growing up. Addysen happened to be down there with me at the time and as soon as I took off the lid, she found this doll...my Cabbage Patch doll, Molly, who I honestly think was the only doll I ever liked growing up! It really was fun for me to see my little girl get excited about my old doll and start playing with her. Here she is giving Molly a place at the dinner table...in Addysen's booster seat. :-)
For months, this was Haven's position of choice. She would hang out on her side all the time...for great lengths of time!
For a while, we would have Haven sit in her high chair during dinner time and we'd give her toys to play with while we ate. So one afternoon, Addysen decided Daisy would want to do the same thing. Do you think Daisy has enough toys to last her a while?? Ha! :-)
And this is a face I get quite often and was able to capture it...it goes right along with Addysen telling me "No more pictures!" :-)

Sitting and Crawling
In the last week (8 mos), Haven has begun sitting up on her own as well as crawling! Had to post a couple videos of her new found skills!

Under
These pics are from the end of December and through January, but wanted to post them to remember how Haven loved to be under things! We'd constantly be finding her under anything she could get herself under! She still does this some (especially with the trampoline), but not quite as much now that she's more mobile. A few places...

Under the swing...she used to love this because there was a strap hanging down (she's holding it in the pictures below) and she loved to chew on it. :-)
Under the trampoline...and when she's under there it looks like she's doing exercises...she kicks it up off the ground so high! She will push on it so hard that she scoots it across the room sometimes!

2 Year Old Conversations
I cracked up at some of the conversations that Addysen and Abigail had while the Heringers were here visiting. They would have so many funny conversations...some that I think only they knew what they were talking about.
And then there were plenty of these kind of "conversations" they would have as well that would go something like this:
Abigail: I want to get out of the car.
Addysen: No, I want to get out of the car.
Abigail: No, I want to get out of the car.
Addysen: No, I want to get out of the car.
Abigail: No, I want to get out of the car.
Addysen: No, I want to get out of the car.........(you get the point :-) )
or
Abigail: This is your bed.
Addysen: No, this is my beddy.
Abigail: No, this is your bed.
Addysen: No, this is my beddy
Abigail: No, this is your bed.
Addysen: No, this is my beddy......(again, you get the point :-) )
I was able to sneak the video camera around the corner and capture one of their fun conversations...and them playing together in Addysen's room. They were so sweet together and really enjoyed playing together. Oh how I wish we lived closer!!

Sisters
Sweet sisters...

Within a couple days after Haven started sitting on her own, the girls started taking baths together. Addysen was SO excited to take a bath together...and still every night asks to take a bath with Haven.
Daddy Dates
As often as he's able to, Jeff takes Addysen out on Daddy /daughter dates on Saturday mornings. They always go to "Old McDonalds" and despite almost always coming home covered in syrup...all over her outfit, in her hair, etc., they have a ball and it's such a special time for them to have together...just the 2 of them!
Here they are a couple weeks ago...all ready to go to Old McDonalds

Nap Time
Addysen has always been a great sleeper since she was an infant. Most days she goes down for her nap with no problem and sleeps for 2-3 hours. However...she definitely is at the age where there are those days where she just doesn't want to take a nap. I've been teaching her that even if she doesn't sleep, she needs to stay in bed until I come to get her. Most of the time she will abide by this; however, one day a couple weeks ago, I walked in to find this...
...and things were starting to come out of the closet (though I had to laugh that in her mess, she still lined up her shoes in a straight line...ha!)...
...every wipe out of the package and all over the floor...

Another Visitor!
Our dear friends, the Heringers, came to visit us last week. We had such a great time and it was so much fun to see our big girls play together again! When we were in Arizona we got Addysen and Abigail together almost every week for play dates...BFF's only 4 days apart!
The girls learned a lot about sharing while they were together. :-)

The little girls...Rachel 5 months, Haven 8 months
...didn't take her long to do this (below)...and then the camera went away and I had to move Haven away from such a temptation! :-)
We rented a van for the week...and I pretty much fell in love with having a van! Who would have thought?! :-) Ha! But the automatic sliding doors were heavenly! No more bumping car doors while trying to get the kids in and with a click on the remote, they open and close by themselves! Plus, an added benefit was that Addysen was able to climb into the van and up into her car seat by herself! Loved seeing the van full of kids!
The paint box...this was Addysen's first time actually painting in the paint box (a glass room where they can paint on the walls)...guess she just needed her friend's encouragement! The other times she's gone in, she has stood like a statue just watching the other kids paint. I'm sure it's a bit confusing that we try to get her to paint on the walls in the paint box...yet at home, there is no painting, drawing, etc. on the walls. :-)

There is a music room where you put on headphones and can listen to whatever you are playing (keyboard, guitar, drums, etc.). Haven was enjoying listening to Daddy play the drums. :-)

Addysen loved having someone here to "run around in circles" with her (running around the small divider wall between our kitchen and living room)!
This picture cracks me up...apparently Erin was doing all the work while I sit back and take a picture?? :-) Sorry about that friend! Ha!

Abigail's very favorite thing to do is reading! So there was lots and lots of reading while they were here...loved it!
Abigail loved Addysen's big girl bed! She climbed right in and they played in Addysen's room (which doesn't even have any toys in it!) quite a bit!
