Fieldtrips

Addysen's preschool usually has one field trip each month. I've been so thankful to have had someone to watch Haven the last couple months so I could go on the field trips with her!

September Field trip - Park and Nature Walk

Addysen was pretty exited to get to ride on the school bus for the first time on their field trip! Making it even more exciting, she ended up getting to sit next to one of her teachers, Mrs. Dawson!

All the kids in Addysen's class (Addysen's on the far left)

Getting their instructions for their nature walk along with their bags into which they were to put things that God made (sticks, leaves, etc.) that they found on their walk.

Such sweet friends

Love this pic...it is SO Camden and Addysen! Camden is always trying to do anything to make Addysen laugh and she is constantly giggling at the things he does!

Most of the kids jammed their bags full of leaves, etc. on the nature walk within about the first 3 minutes of the walk. Addysen, true to her personality, was very particular about what ended up in the bag. Had to be the right leaves, sticks, etc., and even a handful of dirt that God made. It took her the entire walk and she had her bag about a 1/4 full, but with things she was really excited about!

During the first month, they had been learning about creation and I love that they didn't just take them to a random park for the fun of it for their field trip. Instead they designed it to go along with what they had been learning...looking for things that God made at the park.

October Field trip - A Local Farm

Heading out to the bus. Love what they use to keep the kids all together at this age...they all take a circle and hold that circle anytime they go anywhere. Camden always "saves" a circle for Addysen so they are always standing next to each other when they are holding the circles. :-)

One of the best parts of a field trip...another bus ride!

The first thing the kids got to do was go through a corn maze. They had fun getting to tell the man leading us what direction they wanted to go at each intersection.

After the corn maze, they took a hay ride over to an area where they spent the rest of their time.

They had some goats and baby cows for the kids to look at and touch if they were brave enough!

It took her a while, but Addysen got the courage to touch the baby cow...and then ran away from it, squealing!

After they had time with the animals, they were supposed to the bounce area, but there was another class still on it so the teachers quickly came up with a Plan B...Duck, Duck, Goose. Here they are making a circle...

What they hadn't anticipated was that most of the 3 year olds had never played Duck Duck Goose before. So here is Mrs. Everett teaching the first child how to go around and tap the other kids heads and then said "Goose...now run!" to the child that they tapped as the Goose....

...and here's what happened... :-)

It was hilarious...all the kids got up and ran...all chasing each other! Didn't quite understand the concept that only the one tapped got up and ran!

After a few more attempts, they finally got it and played for a while. Here's Addysen taking her turn...

...and getting chased by the "Goose!"

After their games, they got their turn to bounce!

Addysen is typically very hesitant on these bounce areas...this was one of the first times she was brave enough to climb herself!

After their lunch time, they got to pick a pumpkin to bring home...here's Mrs. Everett helping Addysen get hers in a bag.

And the class all together...

Preschool

One of Addysen's favorite parts of preschool is that her good buddy from across the street, Camden, is also in her class. Camden was sick on the first day of school so here are a few pics from the second day of school of the kids together (way delayed in posting these, but I just got these pics from my friend Andrea and they were too cute not to post!).

Busy Haven

Just a taste of what I mean when I say Haven is busy...

This is when she figured out she could push one of the kitchen chairs across the kitchen and push it up to the stove (I have to add that the stove and oven were not on in these pics or clearly, pictures would not have been taken!).

And in case the chair isn't available, the nice thing is that they make ovens with a bar for hanging on or climbing up to the stove.

Kitchen chairs are also great for climbing up onto the kitchen table. (The other day I turned away for a few seconds and when I turned back she had climbed up on the table and was literally walking across it.)

Haven has recently learned to pull things down from the pantry and stack them so she can climb on them and reach things higher in the pantry. Not to mention getting into any and every cabinet...even with child locks on them! She figured out child locks as soon as we moved in here...all you have to do is pull the doors over and over hard enough and they come right open!

The coffee table is always great for climbing too...can either push the kitchen stool over to it or pull a basket out from underneath it and climb on that...

My goodness does she ever keep me on my toes! BUT...even when I can't get over all the things she gets into all the time, how can you resist this sweet, precious face?! Oh how I love this full of life little girl!!
