Egg Hunt...Round 2

After dinner on Easter, we had our own Easter egg hunt outside the house...where Addysen could hunt eggs in peace without worrying about other Mom's mauling her. :-)

We had eggs for Haven on a blanket in the backyard with special treats for Haven too...filled with cheerios and stars. :-)

Addysen had a great time opening all her eggs...so excited to see what was in each one. Every time she opened one she would say very loud and excitedly what it was...for example "It's another fishie!!" or "It's another coin!!" :-)

And of course right away ate every goldfish, pretzel and teddy graham that she found! :-)

Easter Baskets

Before the girls' afternoon naps, they got to look for their Easter baskets. When I told Addysen she could start looking for them, she went to each room upstairs, barely peeked inside and said "Nope, not in there!" and after her 15 seconds of looking, told me she had looked "everywhere" and couldn't find them. :-) So after a few hints, Addysen first found Haven's basket and the girls had fun looking at what was in Haven's basket together.

One of Haven's favorite things in our house is the remote. If it's anywhere in reach, she will find a way to get it and start chewing on it. So I figured she should have her own remote. :-)

After a few more hints, Addysen found her Easter basket...

This picture made me laugh and I had to include it. Addysen thought Haven was trying to come and get the things from her Easter basket so she literally boxed her out to try to keep her away...ha!

In Addysen's basket were 2 little starter "kits" for growing your own basil and cilantro. Addysen was very interested in the process and it's been so fun starting to see the little buds start growing this week. Addysen has been so excited to see the "seeds grow into plants!" every day this week. :-)

Easter Morning

We had a special Easter morning together as a family. Church was great...really neat message and great music. After the service, we stopped at a park by our house and took some pictures of the girls in their dresses.

(Addysen refused to look at the camera while I was taking pictures of her...you'd think she was 2 or something...ha!)

Finally got Addysen to show me the "pretty flowers" she had picked and I at least got her looking my way!

After we were done taking pictures, I think Addysen was trying to "beat" Haven to the stroller to be able to ride back to the car so she ran to where we had left the stroller and climbed ever so gracefully and ladylike into the stroller as you can see below...ha!

We got home and Addysen played outside for a little while...doing sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles and playing with flowers...while I got brunch in the oven and Haven took a nap. Pretty cute watching her run around and play in her Easter dress. :-)

Egg Hunt and Egg Coloring

The Saturday before Easter, we went to an Easter egg hunt about 45 minutes away. It was an absolutely beautiful drive...I'm a bit in awe of how beautiful this part of country is in the spring!

This was the setting for the egg hunt (if you look closely you can see the eggs on the grass down below the pool area).

They had snow cones and popcorn...here's Addysen eating her "purple" snow cone.

Based on how Addysen has reacted to Santa in the past, I was surprised at how much Addysen liked the Easter Bunny this year! She went right up to him and gave him a high 5!

Haven lays her head down on everything lately...

Waiting for the hunt to start...

And the egg hunt begins...

I have to side note here...I was totally not prepared for an egg hunt like this! They had the hunt split into different ages...Addysen's age group being 4 and under. So I figured when they said "go," all the kids would sort of wander out on the grass and it would be so cute watching them try to pick up the eggs and put them in their basket...allowing for parents to look at how cute their child is and take lots of pictures. Um, wrong.

After the picture above, I had to go into the grass after Addysen...after she was just about mauled by other MOM's out there. Holy cow these Mom's took it seriously...their kid was going to get the most eggs even if it meant knocking other kids out of the way. I just about had to drag Addysen down to the other end of the grass to keep her from getting knocked over by the sea of Mom's grabbing eggs for their kids. It was quite chaotic and only lasted about 3 minutes I think before all the eggs were snatched up.

Addysen was not exactly in her element in a situation like this...being rather timid in groups of people and not aggressive in the least! The great thing was, she's still at the age where she was just so excited she got some eggs...all 6 of them. :-)

Checking out the eggs

Love this pic as it shows such a classic Addysen expression when she's concentrated on something...love those cheeks!

Once all the eggs were found and kids cleared out a bit, there was lots of room to run around!

After the egg hunt and nap time, Addysen and I colored eggs. We attempted to decorate them first, but it didn't work real well...but Addysen was much more excited about the eggs turning colors than decorating them anyway!
