Carter David
Carter David, Dave and Krista's beautiful new baby boy, was born yesterday. We are SO excited for them!!! After scares from the doctor that a highway policeman could be delivering the baby because of how fast he would likely come, everything went smooth and a qualified doctor delivered Carter in the hospital yesterday at 1pm.

Breakfast
Instead of a formal book club, I had Krista and Rachel over for breakfast this morning...just to spend time together. We had a great time eating and chatting. I am so thankful for the friendships that the Lord has blessed us with here in Phoenix. So thankful.

Don't ride with strangers...
...unless you're stranded and about to miss a flight. That's the new rule.
Yesterday I was in Vegas for the day to meet with a couple clients and engagement teams for audits that I'm managing.
Fly in, fly out. Simple. Well, until we went out to the car of the staff driving me back to the airport and the car wouldn't start. Nice.
We were the last people to leave the client...even better. The worst part was I literally could see the airport runway from the parking lot where we were standing in 100+ degree weather trying to figure out what to do. So close...yet so far away.
We starting calling people from the office's cell phones...got voicemail. Called for a cab...they wouldn't commit to a time to pick me up. Keep in mind that at this point, it's only about an hour until my flight leaves. I started thinking I was going to have to walk, but I was being told that would take much longer than it looked...I guess they won't just let you take a shortcut across the runway to get to the terminal...
So...a lady ended up coming out of the building we had been working in. She wasn't from our client, but at that point, I didn't care. I'm sure that's just want she wanted at the end of her day...some lady walking up to her asking her for a ride to the airport...oh, and by the way...my name is Noelle.
But thankfully, she was gracious enough to forgive that fact that she didn't know me from anyone and let me hop in her car and she drove me to the airport. I got to the airport in plenty of time...a good 30 minutes before my flight left... :-)

Hair Emergency
We used to laugh about a hairdresser we used to know who would talk about hair emergencies she would come in for...what is a hair "emergency??"
Now I know.
Jeff leaves tomorrow for Colorado to meet the coaches and spend some time at the Air Force Academy and came home tonight with a haircut that looked like a 14 year old cut their own hair...it was pretty bad!!
Ashley, however, came to the rescue tonight!! She didn't have much to work with since they shaved his head pretty good, but with what was left, she worked a miracle!! Thanks, Ash!!!

Small Group Kick-Off!
Tonight we had our small group kickoff for this upcoming year. We were excited to have most of the couples from last year returning as well as a couple of new couples who may be joining us as well this year!

Everyone took their turn playing this video game with guitars. For some it was all fun with lots of laughs...

...for others it was a little more serious...

Interesting
We had a very interesting dinner tonight. We went to a "non-chain" restaurant in Uptown (I think it was in Bloomington) that was pretty cool tonight. It had a huge variety of food to choose from...all of which was "sharing" food. So....we ordered a ton of things for myself and 3 other women I'm working with....here are a few of them...
Enchiladas, Nachos (yes...it's sounding like it goes together...just wait), Pot Stickers, Mango Chicken Salad, some kind of Chicken on a stick with sticky rice...
To drink, we had mango lemonade...
And for desert, fried snickers (no, we weren't at the fair!) with ice cream and some type of S'Mores...including the mini-fire and all.
If that isn't a bizarre combination I don't know what is...but it was good and definitely a fun experience! Plus...we got to eat outside...which felt great since we're still cooped up inside in Phoenix for a few more months! :-)
On another note...I can't believe how green it is up here!!! There's huge trees and lakes all over! Beautiful...at least this time of year it is! Wouldn't want to come up here again in the winter!! :-)

Back to where I was born
I made it to Minnesota last night...I'm here for 2 days for work. Not loving the humidity...and I'm staying in a hotel that probably would have been "cool" in the 70's...loads of fun.
Yesterday we went to a graduation party for our friend Chris...he just got his doctorate!! We were thrilled for him, but sad to know it was the last get together with Chris and Lisa before they leave for Spokane. I'll post pictures when I get back home...I forgot the connector to my camera!
