Our basketball court in the park was submerged!
Fortunately, this is not our tree...it's our neighbor's tree - completely uprooted! There are several on our street just like this - the wind was pretty strong!
Ashley, Rachel and Krista...laughing...of course! :-)
Isn't this cool?!? Krista's sister Lisa's husband made this "bouquet" of fruit using cookie cutters! The yellow "flowers" are pineapple with the center a scoop of cantaloupe. The red "flowers" are watermelon.
We had a great, very "girly" lunch...scones, chicken salad, mandarin orange salad to name a few...numm! The funny thing was that we all sat down.......and no one sat next to Krista! :-) I think everyone was trying not to "hog" her time, but it turned out pretty funny when she was sitting all by herself at the end of the table! :-)
Lots of diapers and wipes...which to me looked like it would last forever, but those of us with no kids in the room were surprised to find out how short these huge boxes and bags would last!
This is not snow...it's hail! I'm sure it's because I live in Phoenix that I was so enthralled with this, but seriously...the hail was crazy! Colorado weather...it was beautiful outside and then all of a sudden clouded up and poured rain and hailed....
....then cleared up again for a beautiful night at the park for fireworks! This was the sunset we saw from Memorial Park over the mountains...gorgeous!
The ground was absolutely soaked because of the rain earlier. So...we brought garbage bags to lay on the ground under our blankets so we could try to stay somewhat dry!
Sweatshirts and jeans...little different than the attire in Phoenix right now!
Consistent with our pattern lately of last minute trips...Jeff and I headed to Colorado yesterday. We left Phoenix at 4:30am and got into Colorado Springs at around 6pm. The trip went well (aside from some delays through Albuquerque) and we were glad to make it here!
Shortly after getting in, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner...the surprise was tha they didn't know Jeff and I were coming! :-) Mom and Dad went to the door and told them they brought their daughter and son-in-law...except to their surprise, it was Jeff and I; not Cornel and Natalie!
We had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and then headed over to see Cornel and Natalie's new apartment (well...at least new for Jeff and I!). Great to be back in Colorado and with family!Mom made a great German chocolate cake for dessert...numm...
Grandma's mode of transportation around the house. Hopefully after her surgery tomorrow she won't need this anymore!
